Since 1st January, communes no longer have the right to use phytosanitary products for the maintenance of their green spaces and roads. The CCSB (Communauté de Communes Saône Beaujolais) has created five points for the grouping of shared equipment for the management of the green spaces in its 42 communes. Communes that do not have sufficient resources to purchase high-performance equipment to enable sustainable and pesticide-free management of their green spaces now have them at their disposal free of charge. This new type of management makes it possible to limit the pollution of water, soil and air by pesticides. It also promotes the preservation of biodiversity. This eco action is in partnership with the Ministry of the Environment and the Rhône-Mediterranean-Corsica Water Agency. It has been developed thanks to the financing obtained through the "Positive Energy Territory for Green Growth" call for projects.
This project is one of the nominees for the 28th edition of the Eco Action Trophies, the leading sustainable development competition for local communities, organised by the Les Eco Maires association.
