The French Network for the Sustainable City (“Institut for la Ville Durable, IVD) is the French association of sustainable city stakeholders. First of all, it is place for meeting and sharing topics of public interest between all sustainable city actors. It is also a place of dissemination and international outreach of the French know-how, through its actions, namely organisation, capitalisation, development, research and training support, but also through its working groups on sustainable city innovations. Drawing on topics of public interest, the French Network for the Sustainable City annually defines a partnership-based work program involving each of the members of its 4 boards: local governments (and their associations), companies of all sizes (large French enterprises as well as very small businesses), the State (mainly its specialised operators) and city experts (particularly national professional bodies).
IVD’s work is organised around 2 main objectives: the change of scale and the promotion and dissemination of know-how.
