Citelum, the EDF Group's intelligent lighting subsidiary and associated connected services, carried out the renovation of Copenhagen's public lighting.
The work carried out is part of the city's desire to achieve carbon neutrality by 2025, in particular by reducing its energy expenditure.
In 3 years, 18 000 light points, i.e. half of Copenhagen's lighting fleet, have been replaced by LED lights. Citelum will maintain the lighting and use its digital MUSE® platform to plan interventions, monitor equipment consumption levels and communicate quickly with the city's technical services.

YOUTH DEMOCRACY PRIZE: Metz
The children’s urban council of Metz (Culture and Heritage Commission) has designed a model of its dream city of the future. In their vision, this city is green, sustainable and solidary. This model comes with a leaflet which transcribes the children’s words during its design, as well as the sketches that were made for this purpose. All the constructions were primarily made of recycled materials (paper, cardboard), and the leaflet’s texts were written based on the transcription of the children’s audio recordings. The model has been exhibited on several occasions, at the Metz Pompidou Centre or during the Ecology Festival organised by the European Institute for Ecology, as well as during the 2017 Heritage Days, where it proved very successful. The special feature of this eco-action was the consultation of inhabitants within the project, which led to the release of a document: “the 300 proposals of Metz residents in terms of sustainable development”. Let’s hope that these models will be a source of inspiration to build the city of tomorrow!
- At the entrance of the site, a whole building is dedicated to the reception and services, with a company restaurant, a business centre, a space for the employee representative committee, a showroom as well as numerous meeting rooms,
- 7 office buildings are connected by a “technology boulevard”, genuine inner street, conceived to foster circulation and exchange between Thales’ staff,
- The site’s technical facilities are, for their part, gathered in an other building,
- Eventually, the campus is equipped with a vegetated car park with 1700 spaces and additional 250 places for bicycles and two-wheelers.
The project of urban renovation in Les Mureaux, subsidised by ANRU (National Agency for Urban Renewal), took place in 6 districts (70 ha) where 15 000 inhabitants live, i.e. almost half the inhabitants of the town. The project aims to support the transformation of these districts, making them more attractive thanks to the restructuring of public spaces, diversification of housing, and the creation of qualitative local facilities in line with sustainable urban development.
The concept of the urban project, which was initiated more than 15 years ago, was progressively adopted at the operational level, culminating in 2017 with the establishment of Molière Park, returning the Rû water course into the urban landscape along with gardens, tree-lined streets, squares, little alleys, and cool areas.
The revival of the TramFret concept was driven in part by the replacement of a significant amount of tramway inventory in 2017, in Paris, Nantes and Saint-Etienne, creating the prospect of an industrial element to the transformation of this tramway rolling stock to transport goods around the city by tram.
As part of an R&D partnership, Efficacity handled the scientific aspects of establishing the operational demonstrator in Saint-Etienne, under the terms of a tripartite consortium agreement with SEM and STAS.
In July 2017 two test sprints were carried out under real conditions. A passenger tram car was rehabilitated and modified for goods transport. With a load capacity equivalent to that of a straight truck (10 to 15 tonnes), the rolling stock and the entire test process were given the requisite safety certification.
These results demonstrated the logistical and operational feasibility of the system.
Europolia signed a R&D partnership with Efficacity to develop the energy strategy of the future Matabiau station in Toulouse, as part of the Toulouse EuroSudOuest project. Leading project of the region of Occitanie, Toulouse EuroSudOuest is a vast urban and transport development program that aims to transform Toulouse Matabiau train station into a multipurpose / multimodal centre and into a genuine living space directly connected to the city. The partnership between Europolia and Efficacity will provide new and divers approaches on energy efficiency, which have already been tested by Efficacity in two train stations of the Grand Paris Express and one future station at Porte Maillot. As part of the partnership, Efficacity will more specifically take action on three broad headings: - Energy efficiency of the multimodal centre - The promotion of new and local energy sources - Creation of an energy hub at the neighbourhood level To read the full article : https://www.efficacity.com/efficacity-et-europolia-signent-un-partenariat-de-rd-dans-le-cadre-du-projet-toulouse-eurosudouest/
The Convergence project was awarded the National Golden Pyramid Grand Prix from the National Federation of Real Estate Developers. This histori conversion of the St Joseph prison into a future centre attracting the Greater Lyon metropolis. Occupying 10,600 square meters, this space welcoming tertiary activities, was built from part of the walls of the former prison. The façades provide an architectural and technical quality to the building allowing its thermal and acoustic insulation.
