The energy node of the Dunkirk heating network: the 1st multi-industrial and multi-fluid "smart grid"

multi-industrial and multi-fluid "smart grid"
Thanks to the Energy Node, the Centre de Valorisation Energétique (CVE - Energy recovery centre) of the Urban Community of Dunkirk recycles waste by recycling it into electrical and thermal energy, whatever the season.
Daudruy, the industrialist specialised in refining, uses this recovered energy in the form of steam at a competitive cost. The heating network managed by Dalkia is supplied by energy from the CVE and hot water generated by Daudruy's equipment. This energy, which is reinjected into the Dunkirk urban heating network, provides thermal coverage for a number of infrastructures (collective housing, sports, cultural, educational and health facilities, etc.) and reduces CO2 emissions in the region. Finally, it is a winning partnership for the industry, the heating network and the CVE, and, consequently, for the inhabitants of the region.
