“The countryside in Paris” project is a collective housing project in Paris’ 20th arrondissement. The main challenge for the contracting authority was to find a balance between construction cost, sustainability and environmental quality. The dwellings are divided into small town houses and smaller collective housing, which have been designed to minimise tenants’ costs.
Large bay windows provide natural lighting to avoid artificial light, thermal solar collectors and photovoltaic panels make it possible to use a free energy source whilst a rainwater recovery system makes it possible to water green spaces. The building’s insulation, thanks to a wooden frame façade also allows it to benefit from good inertia. Finally, the terraces and mini gardens make it possible to revegetate the building.
