After the first successes of the « La Chapelle » railyard site in the 18th district of Paris and the « Grand Train » in 2016, SNCF welcomes « Ground Control » on the former Charolais railway mail sorting center, in the context of the urban transition program by SNCF Immobilier. This project aims to regive a temporary life to the unused railway grounds as it waits for an urban conversion in response to the new uses and needs of the city.

SUEZ has pioneered the Command and Control Center, an innovative urban supervision tool that facilitates an enhanced management of the public space by consolidating and analyzing the data generated by a city’s operations: traffic regulation, video-surveillance, street lighting, emergency services, and more. This trailblazing solution is being piloted in the Dijon metropolitan area, and will transform this city with a population of 260,000 into the first smart and connected city of its kind in France.
SUEZ group, in partnership with the Saint-Etienne municipality, was awarded the “Sustainable and United City” Call for Expression of Interest by the National Agency for Urban Renovation (ANRU) within the framework of the Future Investments Program (PIA). After developing the ex post evaluation methodology for the PIA VDD (programme of investments for innovation to build the City of tomorrow, also called EcoCité approach) for Caisse des Dépôts over 2016-2017, Efficacity has now signed up to a three-year R&D partnership designed to support the ex post evaluation of EcoCités territories.
Launching of the new research project Quartier E+C-: Positive and low-carbon energy development operations
The consortium federating the CSTB, Elioth, l’Alliance HQE-GBC, Efficacity, Effinergie, Certivéa, l’Association BBCA and Atlantech recently won the call for research projects during ADEME’s 4th edition of: «Towards responsible buildings before 2020».
Quartier E+C-, the winning project, aims to develop and test a carbon energy assessment method at the neighbourhood level.

Europolia signed a R&D partnership with Efficacity to develop the energy strategy of the future Matabiau station in Toulouse, as part of the Toulouse EuroSudOuest project. Leading project of the region of Occitanie, Toulouse EuroSudOuest is a vast urban and transport development program that aims to transform Toulouse Matabiau train station into a multipurpose / multimodal centre and into a genuine living space directly connected to the city.
The revival of the TramFret concept was driven in part by the replacement of a significant amount of tramway inventory in 2017, in Paris, Nantes and Saint-Etienne, creating the prospect of an industrial element to the transformation of this tramway rolling stock to transport goods around the city by tram.
As part of an R&D partnership, Efficacity handled the scientific aspects of establishing the operational demonstrator in Saint-Etienne, under the terms of a tripartite consortium agreement with SEM and STAS.
